Hey, it is been a though, has not it? I don’t feel I have composed a web site submit in a yr or so. I hope you’re all undertaking effectively in these insane moments. As often, many thanks for looking through.
I have a issue: What’s your favorite U.S. Countrywide Park?
In excess of the past two decades, I’ve fallen in adore with them.
Ahead of the pandemic, I experienced only frequented a handful of them, primarily by accident. But when the pandemic hit, and it was safe sufficient to road-vacation, I drove all about the place traveling to them.
Now I’ve noticed 15 out of 63. And someday, I’d like to see them all.
Initially, there was Redwood Nationwide Park, with its towering trees and black-sand beaches…
Then Indiana Dunes, with its sprawling views of nuclear reactors…
Then Utah, household to some of the very best nationwide parks in the region: I visited Capitol Reef, Bryce Canyon, and Zion.
Soon after Utah, I frequented Mammoth Cave (Kentucky) and Very hot Springs (Arkansas), on the way to Austin, which is in which I dwell now.
Then there was Huge Bend, Texas. The evening sky is outstanding there! You can see so several stars.
Followed by Petrified Forest in New Mexico…
And most not too long ago, Glacier (Montana) and Grand Teton (Wyoming). Glacier National Park reminded me of Switzerland with its alpine valleys, purple wildflowers, and jagged mountains. I even observed mountain goats.
I really feel so lucky that I’ve gotten to see so much of our stunning state in the past couple of yrs.
When I was younger, I focused exclusively on worldwide vacation (this weblog isn’t known as Ashley Abroad for nothin’). But in excess of the earlier two decades, I’m delighted to report that I’ve obtained a newfound appreciation for my individual backyard.
It turns out you really don’t have to fly halfway all over the entire world to go on an journey.
As for my favourite? It’s a two-way tie concerning Redwood and Big Bend.
How a lot of nationwide parks have you visited? Do you have a beloved?
(Here’s a complete record in situation you are curious.)
