Thieves steal trailer from Church of the Valley in Apple Valley
Church of the Valley in Apple Valley can’t appear to catch a crack.
Just after years of dealing with arson, hearth, and theft, congregants found that someone had stolen the church’s rummage trailer on Sunday early morning.
The theft of the trailer transpired at the church on 20700 Standing Rock Avenue and throughout the road from the Apple Valley Sheriff’s Station.
The theft, which was documented to sheriff’s officers, transpired the working day immediately after the church concluded its quarterly rummage sale, church officers explained.
“It was stolen from the rummage area of the church, which is the back again of the church home, the again parking whole lot,” Pastor Joel Branter instructed the Each day Push. “It was emptied for the sale that we hosted this weekend. It was also emptied for our future donation decide-up day on June 20.”
All proceeds from the rummage sale go toward various charities and ministries that serve the area community, in accordance to Branter.
Surveillance footage
At 4:18 a.m. on Sunday, church surveillance footage captured two adult males approaching the empty, locked 1997 Tempo Cargo rummage trailer that was parked by the guard shed, church officers said.
The suspects undid the chain and backed what looked to be a white Dodge Durango up to the trailer.
The duo pulled out of the church campus with the trailer hooked up and turned east on Standing Rock.
Church officers are inquiring the public to search for the white trailer with a California license plate number of 1GG1918.
The trailer has black fenders, Yucaipa Trailer Profits on the back again doorway, and a 50 percent-dollar-sized gap around the lock wherever an individual lately pried the locking mechanism off.
“If you know how to look at Craig’s record or any other social media sale venue, make sure you check for the trailer,” church officers stated.
Theft, blaze, and arson
In the course of last year’s rummage sale, church officers reported anyone stole an electronic bike from a church member who was volunteering at the party.
In January 2018, the Apple Valley Hearth Safety District been given a blaze report at the church, which destroyed a fenced storage area and triggered substantial problems to an adjacent construction.
At the northeast conclude of the campus, both constructions have been applied to store donated products that were to be marketed for the duration of the church’s rummage sale.
The hearth transpired just yards from various wooden sheds applied to store sale merchandise, reported church volunteers Don Amador and Greg Hinkle.
In 2016, a 16-12 months-old boy was arrested on suspicion of arson that wrecked 4 sheds and a travel trailer at the church. Property damage was $8,000, the AVFPD described.
